What better way for infant children to develop their geographical knowledge and skills than to join Barnaby Bear on his travels?

Children visit six exciting locations: Beddgelert, Belfast, Chennai (India), Dublin, Edinburgh and Poole, experiencing six interactive geographical activities in each one.  The themes of the activities are:

Journeys: choose the most appropriate map for the chosen location and use a scale bar to measure the distance from Barnaby's home in Chester.  Then choose the most appropriate means of transport to travel there.

Weather: watch three short TV clips to find out about the location, then pack suitable items for a visit there.

Landscape: explore an interactive photo of the location and label it on a field sketch.

Sightseeing: using a streetmap, grid references and compass, direct Barnaby to the sights.

Transport: explore different types of transport, then test your knowledge with multiple choice questions.

Shopping: match the items that Barnaby has bought to the shop that is most likely to have sold them.

With its wealth of photographic resources, focused activities and innovative features, Where in the world is Barnaby Bear? will inspire, support and extend children's geographical learning.
