Learning about Religion is a non-fiction resource that contains six talking reference books. Each book explores one of the major faiths in modern Britain and is organised into topics which focus on different aspects of each faith, such as Beliefs, Worship, and Sacred Writings. After reading a topic, children can test their understanding by completing a ¿Knowledge Check activity. Pupils can also use the search facility to explore the CD-ROM and select and retrieve specific information from an alphabetical index. Less able readers are supported with an on-screen glossary and information text that can be narrated.

It’s hard to make grammar, punctuation and spelling exciting, but we think the Literacy Shows pack of three CD-ROMs does just that!
Set in the familiar format of a children’s TV show, hosted by two enthusiastic and appealing cartoon characters: Hamish McGee and Gale Rio, the feature packed CDs teaches, tests and consolidates children’s understanding and use of grammar, punctuation and spelling in a way no text book can!
